Rich black topstain. Burgundy paper boards quarter bound with grey cloth binding with burgundy titles. A couple of tiny fray hairs at backstrip crown. Some paper-loss at tips on edges from shelf-rubbing.

First Faulkner volume in the LOA series. Random House. First Edition as stated and First Printing, Also has a slight tear and folding on top of front cover. Burgundy boards are in excellent condition with rather large gilded “WF” on front board; binding has same gilt lettering with name of book, author and publisher.

Pages and text are in very good condition with minimal underlining on five pages throughout the pps. This edition is the unrevised text of Sanctuary ,as Faulkner submitted it to his Publisher. It wasn’t until a year and a half later, that Faulkner, in “desperate, need of money, he decided it might sell; but before allowing it to be published, he revised heavily. Gold writing within the title box. No DJ. Binding is tight and book is square. Slight shelf ear at top edge and very monir bumping on corner- very eathically pleasing book. Inside pages are clean, uncreated and just slightly yellowing. First Edition; Fifth Printing.

No jacket. A former owner has written in pencil to the paste-down: one of copies. Perhaps it is his bookplate R. Dickinson that is pasted to the front endpaper. A single fold-out has a diagonal crease from misfolding else a spectacular copy. A lovely copy of an enchanting book. Includes many die-cut pages special inks and fold-outs.

Flair was published as a deluxe fashion periodical for a single year. It went under due to cost overruns that were attributable to the extravagant publication features. First Edition; First Printing. Cardboard wraps protected by glassine covers with red wraparound band torn laid in. The wraparound band is printed ‘Face au “realisme socialiste” ‘ This is a fine copy in fine glassine with two very small tears on the spine of the glassine.

The band is rarely seen. This is one of the copies that constitute the French edition of this notoriously fragile book. Splendid copy. Extra postage may be required for heavy or oversize books. Wraps very good with sunning to spine and browning to edges. Wraps fair to good with the usual spine chipping; in this case half of the spine is gone the remainder still attached to the front wrap.

Both wraps are loose. Contains Dali’s essay “The Water in Which We Swim” a list of the plates and the 35 plates themselves each printed on stiff card. The text is on browning newsprint with tiny corner chips; the plates are of hardy stock. Very good- slightly cocked spine overall soiling lacking the dust jacket but with the elusive puyblisher’s slipcase very good with some figures written on it.

Wraps very good with spine wear in very good glassine. Morse Trans. Fine in Very Good dust jacket. Book has no defects and appears unread. Dust jacket has light edgewear. Bright and attractive now protected by fresh mylar sleeve.

Autobiographical in nature the text is by Dali translated from the French. Filled with Dali reproductions. A beautiful collectible copy of the first printing. Dimensions of the book are 7.
